Online degrees are increasingly becoming more popular. As the telecommunications industry continues to advance, online education becomes more practical and realistic. Current cable Internet speeds will allow you to exchange massive amounts of audio and visual information in no time at all. The more technology advances, the better the outlook is for online degree programs.

You will have more marketable jobs skills and a deeper set of tools to utilize in the working world. If you want to increase your salary, while staying at your current job, augment you skills by adding another degree online.

5. Online degrees will help you find a new career

Finding a Quality College for Teacher Certification

Have you ever dreamed of working in the field of education? If you are, then you are certainly not alone because a lot of people also want to have a career in education. Anyway, you might be surprised to discover that not all universities are offering teaching certification. You may want to look into a college for teacher certification in your state if you want a career in the field of education.

It’s a good idea to earn a degree, but it doesn’t always guarantee happiness in the workplace. For instance, a lot of people look to teaching as a possible career path after entering the business world. However, since many of these professionals did not go to a college for teacher certification, they may not able to jump right into the field of education.

I quickly discovered that there were no jobs that I truly enjoyed, after I earned my degree in Psychology. I thought that I could look into teaching as a possible career choice instead. However, it turned out that this was not nearly as easy as I thought it would be. I also found out that the qualifications and certifications that can be earned through a college for teacher preparation are not available in all programs.

I decided to look into college for teacher certification on the Internet, but it also turned out to be a little complicated. It really helps to be in the field of education already when you are taking these courses. Professionals already working in the field or for someone who has access to classrooms on a regular basis can have an easier time with online courses for teachers.

There’s a good chance that you want to know why a certified teacher would want to take more classes. You see, many states require that the teaching staff members in their communities take the most up-to-date courses in their field. This is to help the staff stay current on teaching strategies and on the most recent information in their field of study.

People who work all day can benefit from education courses on the Internet. An online college for teacher education can keep you up-to-date on current strategies for an effective learning environment. You can complete these courses at your convenience and many school districts may reimburse the tuition. You can surely find what you are looking for right online, if you are looking for a college for teacher education to gain certification.

Challenges of Online Education

Enrollment in online education is at an all time high, according to a recent study by the Sloan Consortium. Based on responses from more than 2,200 colleges and universities across the U.S., the study reveals that 3.2 million students took at least one online course in the fall of 2005, an increase of 850,000 more than the year before. The report is available at www.sloan-c.org/publications/survey/index.asp.

With the rise in popularity of e-learning comes some unique challenges not extant with more traditional classrooms. Students need to be aware of the differences between online and traditional classes and be prepared to make the necessary adjustments. Significant challenges faced by online students include the following:

  • Technical problems. Computer hardware and peripheral devices such as printers, modems and routers are not indestructible; as with any other man-made device, they can break down or malfunction at the most inopportune time. In addition to equipment failure, an older computer may be incompatible with some software required for the course. Viruses, trojans, spyware and other malware could infect a computer, causing it to run poorly or not at all. A slow internet connection might cause problems logging into class, retrieving and submitting assignments, and posting to threaded discussions. Any of these problems could cause a great deal of frustration for the student trying to complete course assignments. Therefore, it is important for the student to have access to a backup computer to use in case of equipment malfunction.
  • Staying motivated. Going to school always requires a certain level of motivation from a student regardless of whether it’s a "bricks-and-mortar" institution or online class. In a traditional classroom setting, a student has live, face-to-face interaction with the instructor and fellow students -- a camaraderie that may help boost enthusiasm and motivation for the course. In an internet-based class however, there is no live contact with instructor and classmates -- the student works alone in a virtual environment. This lack of live contact may lead to a feeling of isolation, and make it difficult for a student without a high internal commitment or personal drive to stay motivated during the course.
  • Self-discipline. As with motivation, a student needs good self-discipline to succeed online. The freedom and flexibility of e-learning is what's so attractive to many people. There's no obligation to login to class at any particular time or place -- you can go to class and do your assignments whenever it's convenient for you. However, this same freedom can lead to procrastination, and cause the unwary or undisciplined student to fall behind in his assignments. Once behind, it can be difficult to catch up.
  • It's difficult to improve oral communication skills. There are many classes such as speech, drama, debate, teacher education and so forth that require the student to make oral presentations in front of a group of people. With online courses this is not practical, as the classroom is virtual, and the students are not all gathered together at one time in one room. A student wishing to improve oral communication skills may need to take these classes in a traditional classroom course.
  • Classes with lab or hands-on requirements may not be available online. If a lab course cannot be simulated or practically offered online, a student will need to take the course at a local college campus or other location with the necessary facilities for completing the course work.

Students considering taking online courses need to be aware of these and other challenges, and be prepared to meet them in order to be successful online. If any challenge seems insurmountable, the student should reconsider the online option and perhaps take a traditional ground-based course instead.

A Day In The Life Of An Online College Student

Amy Kirwan, a recent graduate of Phoenix University, recently sat down with me to speak about her day-to-day life as an online college student. As a working professional, she found the online environment a great fit for her lifestyle. Working nine to five, Amy would check in with her online school a few times a day to stay in touch and check out the status of her group projects so that if her online classmates needed anything from her, she could take care of it right away.

For the most part, though, the daily life of an online college student is shaped by the off-line life of that student: you can participate in the online classroom environment without disturbing your work schedule. You read for your classes on your own time, and conduct research when you can. At night, students spend several hours at the computer.

When you're on the computer at night, you can interact with your classmates. Online colleges try to arrange classes so that people in the same time zone are taking classes together. Therefore, when you're working, the people in your classes tend to be working as well. In addition to free-form interactions with your classmates via the message boards, you will be required to post written answers to discussion questions about your readings. These written responses take the form of essays. In addition to providing your own answers to the discussion questions, you will be responsible for reading and responding to those responses posted by your classmates.

Phoenix University requires its students to actively participate five out of seven days a week. If the school week begins on a Monday, you will probably do the required reading on Monday and Tuesday and post your responses to discussion questions by Wednesday.

In addition to the substantive responses to your classmate's discussion question essays, you will interact with your online classmates by participating in group papers and group presentations. One example of a group project is the creation of a new business, where teammates work together to craft a mission statement, a business plan, as well as plans for how the company would be marketed.

Depending on the course you take, you might also be responsible for writing an individual paper each week, in addition to the work you are responsible for in your team project. Each week, you will receive an assessment from your online professor, which will include results on papers and tests as well as commentary on your online posts as well as an overview of your progress in the course.

Do Employers Mind If My Degree Is From An Online University?

Maybe you're considering getting a degree from an online university. Maybe you've just earned one and in preparing to apply for new jobs that will make the most of it, you're wondering whether or not prospective employers will see your resume and have bad associations with your online degree. In a word, the answer is no.

Employers who require employees to have a college degree care that you have one from somewhere. Traditionally, there are about 20 colleges in the United States (the Ivies and a handful of other prominent schools) that make employers sit up and take notice about where your degree came from. If you did not attend one of these places, you are like most people, who find that the name of their school is less important to their employers than how they performed academically, and what they studied.

In fact, your online degree may set you apart in a positive way from the rest of the pack of applicants. Successfully obtaining your degree online tells prospective employers that you are a person who will get the job done even when no one is looking. Online degrees testify that their recipients are self-motivated individuals who are capable of managing multiple priorities. And whatever job you're applying for, rest assured that those are two qualities all organizations prize.

Furthermore, online universities are becoming more and more popular. While your online degree can set you apart in the aforementioned ways, you should have no fear that it will stigmatize you. Each day, it becomes more and more likely that the person you sit down to interview with may have attended the same online school that you did!

Another benefit of the online university experience in the eyes of employers is that it is designed in large part for working professionals. The fact that you've made it through an online degree program tells your prospective employer that you have had intense exposure to the types of collegial interactions you will face in the working world. Online universities emphasize and develop the ability to work with others, to manage and meet deadlines, and to be responsible for learning on your own. When you consider all of the things a degree from an online university says about you, you should realize that you're more of a proven commodity, a "safer" hire than recent graduates from brick and mortar universities.

Traditional College Versus An Online Degree

Choosing between traditional college and an online degree program is a very personal decision. You need to consider your own unique situation. Ask yourself what you want from your educational experience. Understand that there is a major difference between online and on-site college learning.

Online degrees can usually be completed in shorter periods of time. The duration is reduced, because the coursework and class layout is streamlined. Students complete assignments individually. Everything is conducted through an Internet connection. If time is a factor, and you need to get your degree as soon as possible, then an online program can be a very valuable option.

Online degree programs are very convenient. You get to work around your current schedule. Availability is a huge concern for people who want to get a degree. College is a huge time investment that many people cannot afford to make. Working professionals cannot simply take breaks for multiple years at a time. People have responsibilities and commitments. Online degree programs let you keep your commitments, while also giving you a very accessible way to earn a college-level education.

Online degrees are considerably less expensive than traditional college programs. When it comes to your education, money is an object that must be considered. College tuition, books, housing and so forth eat up funds like there's no tomorrow. If you want to invest in a college education, you have to make sure that you can afford it. You have to be certain about what you're doing. Online degrees give you more leeway. You can explore more options without accruing a large financial risk. You can test the waters and find a subject that you like. In the long run, online degrees will cost a fraction of what you would dish out for a traditional college experience.

So online degrees are trade-offs really. In exchange for lost experiences, you get convenience. You don't have the thrill of relocating, or the focus of total collegiate immersion. You exposure to new ideas, people, places and practices will be limited by your Internet connection and web browsing capabilities.

With online degree programs, you won't have the same level of natural interaction and live exchanges. The traditional college support network is replaced by individual motivation and Internet access. The social element is removed from the equation, and all you have to focus on is getting your own stuff done. This can be a motivator or a deterrent, depending on who you are and how you learn.

Balance the pros and cons that are specific to your situation. Do you want prestige and exposure or convenience and affordability? Do you want to learn in a group or private setting? Only you can decide what's best for you. Just be sure to review the situation, figure out a course of action and get to it.

What are the Price Considerations of Online Degrees?

In this article, we will discuss why considering online degree prices are so important and how you can benefit from this information.

Considering a degree online? If so, it makes sense to relate the pricing of degrees at the schools offered. Some online schools give you honest details of price of courses, while others are unrelenting. Those schools that withhold tuition fees are cynical, because it will make you question what the school is concealing.

For example, to receive a bachelor degree at CTU-Colorado Tech University in Criminal Justice you will shell out around $15,000 give or take. The university helps you find student loans, normally the Stafford loans, Sally Mae, or other associating loans. One of the difficulties I noticed with this university is they are hesitant to help you find Pell grants and/or scholars. They may send out pieces of information, but as far as the financial staff go into with prudence. Of course, you should advance with caution while considering degrees in all areas.

Still, paying the fee for a bachelors differ because some online schools offer associates, which are priced around $1000. Still, the cost is more reasonably priced and an associate degree will land you a career working with the criminal justice system and courts. You can also work in the police management area or law enforcement. Additionally, the degree will land you a status in police study and psychology, security and criminal prevention, or also the juvenile department systems.

A Bachelors degree will bring the same appeal or job positions nevertheless you can work in other areas of the law where you may not be able to work in with merely an Associates degree.

Few universities and online schools are costly. The programs are equivalent to familiar colleges; however, the schools may not help to get you government or federal grants, which could assist you and your family while attending school. Therefore, thinking about online degree pricing is necessary to save money and land the career you want.

We hope that you have gained a little more knowledge concerning the pricing of online degrees presented in the first half of this article. The next part of the article should make online degrees more apparent.

At Colorado Tech you can learn skills and expertise in correctional solutions, official aspects of criminal justice divisions, administration of policymaking, law enforcement and community, laws of evidence in criminal courts, courts in Juvenile divisions, history of law and crime, criminal American procedures, white-collar criminal acts, breakdown of crime scenes, forensic behavior analytical skills and crimes investigated. Students can also take the benefit of the certificates which help you move ahead in education and guiding you nearer to your online degree. The certificates presented include lawful studies and court processing, correctional technician, crime scene examination, and law enforcement proficiency.

As you can see the degree verses the rest present a bit more yet Penn criminal justice degrees have a different scheme. A number of the supplies presented at the schools include textbooks, guides, and supplements. CTU online presents tools for increasing study time, such as Microsoft Works 2000 Professional software and other tools to manage your curriculums.

At any rate, earning a degree in criminal justice may produce rewards in some areas but for the most part working in the law division will only reward you around $26,000 per year. Thinking about that, you are paying around $15,000 for a bachelor degree. You may want to compare the cost to decide if the degree is worth your valuable time.

Other degrees online include healthcare, business and technology. The three listed degrees present a successful outlook because all three industries are on the rise. The new revolutionized developments coming into play make it doable to earn far more than $26, 000 annually. In addition, the careers achieved with these degrees poses less risks. Law enforcement is likely to get into the field of protect and serve but after working for a while, they turn over to control and empower. How thankless this can be for these people with selfish gain in mind.

Therefore, not only is cost a factor when thinking about online degrees, self-esteem, humanity, confidence, dignity, and other aspects are essential as well.

The industries are rising in numerous areas, thus if you are thinking about online degrees, do not only think about pricing rather think about what the degrees can reward you with in the end. Again technology, healthcare and trade are on the increase, which will payoff any school fees quickly and establish overhead.

As they say, knowledge equals power, so continue to read information on this topic until you feel you are adequately educated on the pricing of online degrees.

Are Online Nursing Degree Programs For You?

The health care industry has been and remains one of the fastest growing industries in the US today. Within this industry, nursing has been at the top for some time. Across the US, a shortage of qualified nurses has led to a significant increase in the demand for nurses and, as a result, better pay and incentives to those who pursue this field.

But is it possible to acquire a nursing degree online?

Yes, there are online degree programs that cater to those who want to specialize in nursing. Students will learn the basics of nursing care, how to read medical charts, how to maintain accurate medication records, and how to complete standard procedures such as taking blood pressure measurements, the fine points of CPR, and how to administer medication. It should be noted that you would have to complete an internship at your local hospital, health care clinic, or nursing home in order to get the hands-on training needed to be a successful nurse.

A quick look at schools that offer online nursing programs include:

  1. University of Phoenix
  2. Florida State University
  3. Middle Tennessee State University
  4. California College for Health Sciences
  5. Jacksonville University
  6. Mountain State University
  7. Kaplan University

There are different levels of nursing that will require additional degrees in order to perform certain procedures, give out medications, or lead a team of nurses. Nurses must pass exams at the end of their degree program in order to become registered in the state that they live in. Nurses cannot practice until they pass these exams. Online degree programs will prepare you for these exams and more. A lot of what is required in your program will also depend on the type of program you are pursuing. Many schools will only offer one nursing degree program. However, others will offer 2 or more different programs.

One example of this is the University of Phoenix. For those interested in the nursing program at the University of Phoenix, four different programs are available. These include 1) Master of Science in Nursing 2) Master of Science in Nursing/Health Care Education 3) Master of Science in Nursing/Integrative Health 4) RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Of course, which program you choose will, in large part, depend on where you are in your professional career and your long-term ambitions.

If you are already in the nursing field, returning to school and earning online degree in nursing administration or specialized area of nursing will allow you to continue working while earning your degree. Those who earn a master’s degree in nursing will be able to apply for many positions such as running a floor of a hospital, or running a nursing facility or clinic.

Teaching nursing education is another nursing degree that you can pursue online. You must first have a bachelor’s degree in order to qualify for the program. Once you have graduated, you will be able to teach at universities, community centers, online colleges, or vocational school. This is a very rewarding career switch if you have been in the nursing profession for a while and want to teach others the skills that you have honed for so many years.

Get A College Education Online

Nowadays everybody wants to get ahead in his career. For this many try to improve their educational qualifications so that they can have better job prospects and get a better salary slip. But alas this is not an easy task once you start working. Taking time out from ones busy schedule to attend coaching through conventional college is almost out of the question. One simply cant's attend regular classes.

You may have heard about continuing education online on the internet but maybe you're not sure what is required or you may be confused about how online education may work for you.

If you are interested in getting a college education and are considering taking college courses online over the internet you should be sure to do your research and find out all you can about you potential digital institution of online learning.

While there are numerous reputable, accredited, and established online universities and colleges there are also just as many fraudulent and questionable institutions on the wild, wild web as well. When considering something as important as the investment in your future that education
is, it pays to take a look behind the scenes at what you are really signing up for.

One sure shot way to pick an authentic online university is to look for the online version of your local or state university. In today's internet savvy world quite often you will find that your local college is offering a part or subset of a particular course online. Search hard and I am sure you will be able to find a full course online from a good state university that suits your requirements.

Digital media - Internet has something to offer everybody. Irrespective your interest there is always something available on the internet for your higher educational needs.

Another possibility that the online system of education is that of studying simply for knowledge rather than for degree. In simple terms supposing you have the hunger for knowledge and don't care for the means through which you get that knowledge. Then you can make use of open courses, which require neither test scores nor finance, that are offered by some reputed universities for example Open Courseware, a project of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T) based on this principle.

Be very wary of online scams and fly by night operations on the internet as well when considering enrolling in online college. These so called "degree mills" offer little to no education and undeniably questionable "degrees" to their customers who in essence pay for fake degrees without having to put in any work. These can not only be an expensive mistake but can do irreparable damage to your reputation if you are caught trying to pass off one of these so-called
degrees as the real McCoy.

All things considered, for those of us out there who want to make the best use of their time, especially when deciding to stay gainfully employed for the duration of their continued education at an online college, online college courses can be a timesaver and an efficient tool in helping you further your education without compromising your existing career.

All about Online Degree Programs

Now is the time to obtain that next big step in your occupation, and it's never been easier or more suitable. The popularity of Online education has increased enormously in the last several years, and now you can take a wide-array of degrees online, from the comfort of your own home, and at your own rate.

Whether you're looking for an online business degrees, online technology degree, online nursing degree, online certifications or countless other online degrees, we have the information you need right at your fingertips.

7 winner approaches for Distance Learners

Distance learning has special challenges. You will probably never see or meet the teacher. You won't have colleagues. You don't have a college grounds full of people studying the same thing.

But you can succeed! Plan on it! Follow the simple tips below, and you'll do better in your learning. They may seem pretty basic, but they'll help keep you alert and on track.

1. Position goals.

• Goal #1: "I will succeed in this course."
• At the beginning of a new course, look through the materials. Break the instruction/assignments into manageable chunks. You might not have time to do a full lesson in one night, so plan for how much you can do, and then stick to it until you're done.

2. Institute an ordinary study/learning calendar.

• Keep a calendar or journal with your study goals and important dates clearly marked-and look at it every day (a calendar can't help you if it's closed!).

• Determine what time is best for you to study. Is it after dinner on Wednesdays when your partner is at bowling? Is it Saturday mornings when the kids are at soccer?

• Take breaks-walk around and draw out. Drink some water or have a light snack. If you're studying nutrition or health topics, you know how important this is!

• If possible, have a devoted study place with all the supplies you might need (computer, paper, pens, calculator, etc.)

• Pace yourself. Don't over extend yourself. There's a reason it takes several years to graduate from usual university. You're in this to learn, not just to get a certificate, so make sure you're learning, not just racing through the materials.

3. Do discussions

• Tell people what you're doing. You're more likely to stick to a course if your partner knows you're doing it. If you are studying high-tech or internet development, the person might just know a programmer he can hook you up with for training.
• Ask a friend to check up on you.
• Ask someone to proof your work before you submit it.

4. Join study groups, with minimal fuss involved

• Join a club. Aspiring financial planners could join a local investing club.

• If you're studying a language like Spanish or Japanese, ask the owners of a local restaurant if they know anyone who might like to do language exchange with you.

• Get a adviser. If you're taking a course related to health or medicine, ask a nurse or pharmacist if you can take them for coffee once a month.

• Search the Internet for notice boards or chat rooms related to your topic.

5. Get basics of your learning style, and make use of it.

• Look for real-world situations and examples of what you're learning about. If you're studying about civil engineering, pay attention to bridges.

• You'll be much more interested if you're involved, not just reading about a topic.

• Put things into practice as early as possible.

• If you're studying accounting, practice by balancing your checkbook.

6. Rejoice successes!

• Reward yourself with whatever works for you, along the way. Remember, you chose to do this. Be proud of your deeds!

7. Post Questions

• If you don't understand something, ASK. It's been said a zillion times: the only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

It's not about memorizing - it's about learning material that will help you in your hobbies, career, and life. Memorization isn't a bad thing, but make sure you're memorizing because you are really interested in the information, and figure out a way to use the memorized information several times within a few days of learning it. It'll stick if it has real-world meaning.

Valuable Tips To Help You Prepare For Your Online Degree

Most working people realize at one point or the other, that gaining a degree will help them make progress in their career, or job. In almost all cases, a degree (B.A. or M.A.) will help you get a promotion, a pay raise, or a better job at the first place.

The catch is that most people don't have the time to attend collage while they work a full time job. They may have other things going on in their lives, such as family, or other obligations. This is why the option of attending an online class and getting a degree thorough online education is so appealing to many. You can fill all your academic duties when you choose to. You are not restricted to attend regular classes in a collage.

But, for too many students, the idea of online degree seems like "easy degree". It's not. The acidic demands form an online degree student are the same as a regular student. And why should they be different?

Plus, there are difficulties that are typical of online degrees. For example, you have to have the discipline to study every week's materials, so you don't fall behind. Since you are busy with other things in your life, the amount of hours you can dedicate to your online education every week is in most cases - fixed. So if you fail to meet your obligation one week, you will have no time to catch up the next week, will you?

Another challenge is that the teachers are "online" and cannot be reached instantly. If you have questions about the materials learnt, you need to contact the teachers and ask them your questions. This is not always easy, and the response is delayed.

There are, however, solutions to these challenges. The first thing you need to do if you are studying for your online degree, is to set a specific time in your daily schedule for studying. This specific time must never be used to anything other than studying. If you let other things interfere with that time of day, you will quickly find that you are falling behind and your academic performance will suffer.

The second thing you should do is set up a supportive system. By that I mean you should have a few "online friends" that study for the same degree, that you can consult with when you have questions about the material. Another possible support net is to find online forums that discuss your subjects pertaining to your degree. There are quite a few of them that have great help on board.

The most important thing is to make sure you are on track. Don't accumulate any setbacks, or you will risk achieving your goal. Remember - your degree is going to push your forward in life, so treat it with proper respect.

How To Avoid Wasting Money on Online Degree Scams

For every person hoping to achieve success and get an online education, there are many more companies and people trying to scam unsuspecting individuals. It goes without saying that these should be avoided at all cost. Of course, the best approach to avoiding online degree scams is to know your product before you buy.

Prospective online students should be on the lookout for things inside the degree offer that tout the benefits of distance learning, but provide little in the way of support for the student. A degree based on life experience alone may often not be worth the paper it is printed on. This can often be very hard for a "graduate" of diploma mills to understand, but most human resource managers would give you a blank stare if you mentioned this as a competitive qualification for employment.

A "money back guarantee" can mean nothing if the small legalese boilerplate says that only in extreme circumstances can you actually get your money back. If the work materials are out of date, poorly written, or the grading standards too harsh or unfair, to whom might you complain? The job market right now is extremely competitive. Gaining any kind of degree or credential that has questionable legitimacy can reduce your chances of being hired, promoted or recognized in your respective field.

Think about what you would do if your money was charged or your check for the "degree" cashed, and you received no diploma, certificate, or any documentation at all showing educational progress. Can you afford to sue a website or a company? Ask yourself before you enroll in any online program if there is not a more legitimate and trustworthy institution available. Why would you want to furnish identity information such as your name, address and telephone number (and IP address), credit, and social security data to strangers over the Internet anyway? Can you hire an attorney to travel to the place where the business is headquartered? Do you have a fine understanding of the legalities of suing a company that accepts money for 7-day high school equivalency courses? It’s likely they are ten steps ahead of you for any legal recourse.

Shop around and see why the "big" online schools near you don’t offer the same program, or call them and ask why. Often a look at the fine print will tell the story. Are there foreign or offshore company names, paragraph after paragraph of disclaimers, unlisted faculty, or minute clauses that state that the work being paid for is only coaching or instruction toward the goal of a degree and cannot be termed education? In order to prove you passed a course with a suspect, or possibly fraudulent, online company, could you produce screenshots of every question you answered correctly? Could you prove that these programs came from the company listed on your credit card? If you don’t receive a quality teaching experience, have you really achieved anything more than a piece of paper?

If you feel there is an online service you want to check, research the "school" or find discussion boards that tell about other student’s experiences. Do not trust testimonials from that site. Contact your state board of education or the county education offices where that school claims to be located. Ask the personnel there if they know of the school or have processed any inquiries or complaints. Keep in mind that a high school diploma obtained in another state may be legal there, but not where you live or work.

The worst thing about education scams is they injure the very people who are most deserving of help; the ones who are trying to better themselves and do what’s needed to get ahead. It is recommended that students act in their own defense first and contact local public school counseling offices or boards of education for advice first.

Looking to finally finish the degree that has been eluding you to this point? Wait no further - complete your online degree today! Get all the information needed to begin today at http://onlinedegreeservices.com

Some Of The Advantages Of Getting A Degree Online

Stuck in a rut at work? Maybe you are one of the many who think that your dream of a college education is part of the dust of your past and not possible. But is it too late to go back to school? Never.

What? You say that you don't want to drive across town to the local campus? You're worried that you might not fit in with today's college generation? No worries. The Internet has solved many problems, and this is just one of them. A higher education sits just a click away for you, and you can actually get what you need right from your own home.

An online bachelor's degree will bolster your career. Online bachelor's degrees come for properly accredited schools and are transferable and acknowledged by most if not all educators and employers in the country.

Consider the advantages of obtaining an online degree. Universities most commonly offer the two types of bachelor's degrees: Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science.

You can work at your own pace. Online universities offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your daily routines, including a fulltime job. Universities offer a broader selection of subjects for majors. You will never be late or absent for class. Most universities offer material accessible anytime of day. You can complete your degree faster from home than an on site program depending on your will and discipline. Online programs often offer competitive prices, many times less than the traditional college, and yet many view the online degree as equivalent of a traditional college education.

Three types of online universities exist. First, diploma mills sell fake degrees not worth the paper on which they are printed. Second, internet only universities range from reputable to shady depending on the school. Finally, regional colleges often offer online program options.

Heavy marketing diploma mills often suck students into their fake degree webs. Remember that students cannot earn a bachelor's degree in a few months of weeks. Consider the programs overview of how to earn the degree. You must complete a number of courses within your major choice. You must complete other classes in related fields. The more work required, the more legitimate the degree. Upon completion, you graduate with your bachelor's degree. This should take 2 to 3 years.

Watch out for the common online degree myths:

"Employers don't recognize online bachelor degrees." This really depends on your school's accreditation and reputation.

"Online degrees don't compare with traditional degrees." More employers are opening up to online degrees, especially those in technical, marketing and media fields.

"College costs too much." Compared to traditional schools, online degrees are modestly priced. Research and compare.

By simply reviewing your options, you can find a viable and reliable university and earn your online degree that will take your career to new heights. So start looking.

Accredited Life Experience Degrees - Accelerate Your Progress Online

Chances are you are pursuing an online degree to reap benefits in the workplace. For this reason, you may be interested in accelerating your progress to get your degree faster. This article will explain seven ways to finish your degree faster. Keep in mind that you will work harder to finish faster and must be willing to make this commitment.

Check with an admissions counselor to see if you qualify for the Credit for Life Experience Program (CLEP). Experience in the business world can translate into college credits with this program. You will have to show documentation of your work experience. The school will verify this experience to determine how it fits into your degree program in terms of college credit. The credits you receive from this program can shorten the time you spend earning your degree. This program isn’t offered at all schools or for all degree programs.

The Proficiency Exam Program (PEP) is similar to CLEP. This program allows students to earn college credit for independent study or other training received without college credit. You may have learned the subject matter in another forum and not need to take the class. You will have to show documentation and pass an exam to qualify for credits with PEP.

Many online universities offer shorter semesters. Some will give you the choice between six, eight and ten week semesters. Shorter semesters allow you to take more classes throughout the year. Keep in mind that these shorter semesters still carry the same requirements. The work load will be more intense, but the time period will be shorter. Be sure you have the time to devote before you choose shorter semesters. The pace is faster and you will need to work faster to keep up.

You can take more classes each semester. Even taking one additional class each semester can take a year off the time you will spend in school. You will have to make time for an additional class each semester, but you'll finish faster. When you plan your classes, schedule a mixture of subjects you find easy with more difficult courses. This way, you won't end up with all the subjects you find difficult at the end of your program.

Some online universities don't require students take general education classes. Your program will focus entirely on your field of study. Often, this structure results in a shorter time spent earning the degree. If you plan to transfer your credits to another university, check before enrolling in the program to make sure the credits are transferable.

Saturday Scholars Programs are offered at many large universities. Students entering this program should hold an Associates degree before applying to the program. You travel to the university on Saturdays, usually from eight in the morning until five in the evening. These programs allow you to finish your degree in two years of Saturdays.

Self paced programs are offered through some online colleges. These classes can be started at any time and finished at your own pace. You can work through the material more quickly than is possible in the typical college semester. Quite a few of these programs set a minimum time you must take the course. Usually they require a six week minimum time frame for completion.

The Changing World Of Online Education

The way we learn is changing faster than ever before. With the Internet, digital libraries and online encyclopedias it seems as if all the world’s information is at our finger tips. This makes learning new things very easy and indeed is changing the way we view knowledge and education. Even traditional schools, colleges, universities and specialty schools are now using online strategies similar to those used in corporate training.

No longer will children with illnesses or injuries be denied their schoolwork, as they can do it all online. Online education has even more uses in such things as Home-Schooling or those wishing to go back and get a degree part-time working at their pace.

As distance learning grows more popular, parents are beginning to consider home education for their children. As the youngest generation grows up online, the future of education looks more digital than ever. Completing a course online gives young students a chance to discover the advantages of distance learning. As a result, more students are prepared for the online format, and more willing to take courses online in college. An online university student can learn something one evening and put their knowledge to work the very next day.

Online educational institutions are growing in number and enrollments because they offer the working class a chance to advance in their careers, develop a higher level of personal confidence, and fulfill life-long dreams.

In the past, working adults weren't able to further their careers because of time restraints; including, but not limited to, working overtime, business travel, and caring for families. Online education takes away those time restraints by offering a completely virtual learning experience.

The Internet is moving well beyond e-mails and e-commerce. Predictions of an Information Age are proving prophetic as the information superhighway carries more and more vehicles transporting ideas opening the door to an education that may have been denied to many. Online education has resulted in thousands of virtual classrooms that offer the possibility for accomplishment and advancement for all.

In an age where everyone and everything is stretched too thin it is refreshing to know that the Internet provides legitimate resources that allow almost anyone to learn about almost anything. You can now feel confident that life and opportunity are not passing you by. Higher education is now available to any person with the drive, the desire and a personal computer.

Whatever your choice, if you have the opportunity to take an online course, do not ignore it. Life is a long-term learning stadium where you are given the tools that other generations would have appreciated.

Online Degrees

Online education has given an entirely new dimension to education. Few decades from now acquiring a degree was restricted to pen and paper, classrooms, university desks and chairs etc. But with the advent of online education a desired degree can be conveniently obtained by sitting at home and not attending classes or taking down notes. Unlike regular studies, online education is a spontaneous and easier way to pursue higher studies.

Online education, as the name suggests refers to acquiring education via the medium of Internet. Several universities offer online education. This enables the aspirants in any corner of the world to get enrolled for their desired courses and acquire education. In order to commence they just have to file their details online and pay the requisite fees for the course. Online education is ideal for those people who are either located in some remote places and so do not have an access to good universities or those who cannot attend regular lectures due to lack of time or any other personal problem. Thus the best part about online education is that it offers education at your doorstep. It saves the time and money you would spend in going and coming back from the university. Moreover unlike the regular colleges and universities that have strong selection basis or a strict eligibility criterion, the online universities are much lenient. The main purpose of online universities is to educate maximum number of people in their desired subjects.

Initially the online courses were confined to advanced business degrees, such as MBA or certification exams like CPA. These courses were and are till date are a boon for all the business professionals who had always wanted to procure an MBA degree but could hardly spare out any time to attend lengthy lectures at the university. However with time the lure of online education has witnessed a surge. So more and latest courses are being introduced. These courses that range from the field of humanities to commerce and computers, cover every significant field of education. Today any person can obtain an imaginary computer course degree or do a course on meditation through Internet.

Though numerous options are available in case of online education yet an individual should be quite selective. He should first obtain information regarding the accreditation and reputation of the university. Doing this will automatically determine the marketability of your degree. You should also inquire regarding the popularity of course you wish to take up. However the fact is that today an online degree from an eminent university is as marketable as one obtained from a traditional university.

But perhaps the biggest shortcoming of the online education is that it is quite expensive. As a result it is not possible for everyone to acquire online degrees. Also in case of online education no face-to-face or personal interaction with the faculty is possible. For those who are not computer freaks and know little about Internet, online education is a difficult choice. On the same hand online courses require a 24-hour Internet access, which is again a costly affair.

RN to MSN - Career Benefits and Education Options

A nurse in many cases holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). The implications of an RN receiving an MSN go beyond patient care. Changing Course ? RN to MSN

There are major differences between an RN and MSN. The education attained by an MSN opens the doors to learning the field of medicine that is similar to the work of a medical physician.

An MSN may choose one of many different nursing roles. They may be a Nurse Practitioner who diagnose and treat patients, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist who provide anesthetics to patients in collaboration with surgeons, dentists, or childbirth procedures. Next we have Certified Nurse Midwives who provides primary health care to women, prenatal care, labor and delivery care, care after birth, gynecological exams, and many other care taking procedures necessary for women?s health. Lastly, there is the Clinical Nurse Specialists who specialize in
education, research, consulting, case management, and leadership.

National Implications of MSN

Managed care, Medicare, Medicaid, and hospital reimbursement issues are all realities of the current health care system. Many new nurses are unfamiliar with the national crisis occurring each day; a cloud of financial and political challenges that are within the medical system.

For an RN who seeks to make a difference in the current structure of our political system, they will be motivated to receive an MSN. An MSN degree offers the opportunity to deal with these issues head-on.

As medical costs continue to increase astronomically, the challenge is to cut costs wherever possible. Studies show that the U.S. could save up to $8.75 billion annually if MSN?s were used in place of physicians (Thomson Petersons). Advanced practicing nurses with MSN?s will be at the frontline to save money and treat patients, to diagnose and replace the role of the physician.

In addition, MSN nurses such as clinical nurse specialists, nurse practitioners, midwives, and anesthetists, are in high demand, for the medically underserved areas of both rural and urban settings to serve as lower-cost primary care providers (U.S. Department of Labor). In rural
settings in particular, there may be fewer physicians available and the MSN will replace the duties of the absent physician unless the patient requires the use of hospital facilities or advanced medical care.

Education, Admission Requirements, and Salary

In order for an RN to achieve an MSN and become an advanced practice registered nurse, most programs require a masters program lasting approximately 2 years following the Bachelor of Science Nursing degree. Some programs require at least 1 to 2 years of clinical experience as an RN for admission. In 2004, there were 329 master?s programs for nurse practitioners, 218 for clinical nurse specialists, 92 for nurse anesthetists, and 45 for nurse midwives (U.S. Department of Labor). Many programs combine the BSN and MSN degree for the nurse to graduate with two degrees together.

The education includes both classroom learning and clinical requirements. Admissions usually require scores taken from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT). In addition, college transcripts, letters of recommendation, and essays, are usually required.

MSN?s generally receive a higher salary than BSN?s and RN?s. The average salary for a RN/BSN is between $43,000 and $63,000. The average salary for a Nurse Practitioner,
for instance, is approximately $66,000 and can go up to $90,000 if the nurse owns their own practice.

Conclusion

An RN who is becoming an MSN has much to ponder for the field they are about to enter. It is no longer about just becoming a practitioner. Many RN?s become outstanding clinicians; however the doors are open to make a difference in the current financial, political, and health care system. Their training is in leadership, research, clinical learning, and communication skills. This is a formula for success in the dynamic field of nursing.

Why Online Education Is More Important Than Food Or Drink

Focusing on the importance of online education is why I ask you to step back in time to when your children were babies. Remember when you taught them to talk/walk. Remember hearing babys first word like dada/mama one of the most pleasurable experiences in your life. Remember that special moment when baby took his/her first steps where you waited in anticipation to welcome them with open arms of which baby fell into after the third step.

Remember the time when your back was turned for a split second and baby had scaled the height of the staircase causing panic and hysteria. You would beg baby to stay put while you challenged those stairs at a pace beyond belief to secure babys safety.
Remember the nights you paced the floor trying to ease babys pains.

Can you remember what your child found important in their early years of growing up? Well let me remind you, it was their age. Numbers played an important role and meant so much to the children e.g. if you asked your child their age you got the exact figures like 5 years and 19 days old. Sense of power was given to the oldest of the street gang because the leader was 5 days older than contester.

If your child had a scuffle with another kid and come of the worst those words from mum/dad like well go hit them back were useless because you had the famous words thrown back into your face, I cant they are ten days older than me. So you see how important numbers meant to your child when growing up. Why change things now when they are even more essential than you could imagine.
Online education besides eating and drinking is the next best thing to survival.

Why is education more important than food and drink. Without it no decent meal on the table.

Caring for your teen the right way is to encourage them to further their education. Without doubt this will prove to be the best parental move you could ever make. If baby is still a toddler then nurture them with more knowledge. Remember as vital education is, children need to grow up in the way nature intended and that is to play and enjoy their childhood. There is no need to push more than necessary to force is not the answer. If your child is pushed then expect a rebellious unhappy child. Online education is this answer for this, depending on the age of the child learning programmes on the internet are carefully devised so baby gets to learn as well as enjoy.

Education has to be number one priority for all parents who want their child to succeed or at least have a chance in leading a comfortable life. It is sad to say without an education under your belt you get to stay at the bottom of any list for advancing forward. There are people who disagree with the system and how it works meaning no knowledge no hope. I also feel the same but hey think about it, it is not a bad thing to know a little more.

Just a reminder, we queue outside our home towns travelling hundreds of miles to keep a dental appointment. Patient lists as long as your arm is still on the increase for hospital treatment. And I am afraid the education system will be next when a time limit is imposed on when we can or can not further our education. Unless you do something fast expect to stand in that forever growing queue as long as the china wall to collect your social security.

Online Associates Degree Leads To Various Career Paths

Back in the late eighties and early nineties there was a push by local government to boost the number of vocational programs in high school. The idea was to give those not planning on going to college a crack at earning a better living. While this program seemed to underpin the absolute need for alternative educational reform in the country, there still was a problem with people that didn't want to fix cars, or be the next town plumber. For those that got stuck in the middle there was not much to do but make a choice between a vocational program or to attend college. Today there is the wonderful online associates degree that has been proven to lead towards a wide spectrum of jobs worthy of many 4 year degree program graduates. Those in high school, or in limbo after high school have a path to follow that is commonly referred to as obtaining an associates degree. This degree is known to provide valuable instruction to those that enroll in the program with the desire to land a job that is high paying, and as secure as any job on the market today.

For those wishing to make a better life for themselves and their family there is nothing like an online associates degree to boost their career. While there are still hurdles financially for those attempting to earn an online associates degree on their own, with no additional support, it also can be the catalyst that can lead to better opportunities in the future if they are able to gut out the hard times that come with attending any college program. This means that the sacrifices put in now will be translated into success later on due to the new opportunities that will arise from the degree. Any reputable online associates degree program will have a career services department that will help guide you in the right direction in order to best help those that are in need of a steady job with higher pay than the current position the student has currently.

Another benefit to enrolling in an online associates degree program in terms of the career possibilities is that the computer is becoming more prevalent in the money making business world. Think about how many occupations use the personal computer in at least some fashion? Is it not a benefit then that you will be gaining your education via this same device? Of course it is, and you will be better prepared to handle the computer, and online applications no matter what your specialty is, because the bottom line is your program is teaching you to learn online, and utilize a computer in ways other associate degree graduates do not.

Yet another great way that an online associates degree can reward those that enroll in the program is the specialty programs geared toward high paying jobs. In fact the associates degree is one of the most career focused degrees one can earn at any level of education. The online associates degree focuses on the aspect that the workforce is a commodity based economy that pays more for in demand jobs, and reacts to provide the student with such an opportunity to get training in any high demand field that exists today. The approval process for online associates degree programs is less stringent than other educational programs, and allows the institution to create a program in reaction to the needs of employers, which could mean that you will end up graduating with multiple job offers.

“ ‘Online Learning’, What Do You Mean?”

“ ‘Online Learning’, What Do You Mean?”

Did this ever happen to you:

You wake up one morning with your stomach in a knot. A vision of your future looms before you. What does it look like? -- the same old frustrations: rent and utility payments you can scarcely meet, car problems that won’t go away, mounting grocery prices, medical bills that multiply, second-hand clothes for the kids, and a menial job that’s taking you nowhere -- ?

What you would like to see is a bright new shiny career, and the satisfying lifestyle that goes with it . . . is that right?

Well don’t despair. Believe it or not, you’re one of a large crowd of folks like you who have no time, or means, for commuting regularly to a bricks-and-mortar school or college, yet realize they are in acute need of more education.

This could mean the young ninth-grade-dropout who wants a high school diploma; the stay-at-home mom who would like to help out with the family budget; the aspiring entrepreneur who happens to be physically handicapped; the retiree who is looking for a second career; and many student-wanna-be’s living in rural or remote areas.

No matter who you are, or where you live, the solution to your problem is easier than you think:

Online Learning by Computer is a popular academic process developed in response to a burgeoning need – just like yours.

A preliminary search will provide a list of fine specialty schools, colleges, and universities that are currently offering online learning via computer. That’s right, anyone can earn a diploma, or certificate, as well as a bachelor’s or master’s degree right from the comfort and convenience of their own home!

Available online learning courses run the gamut from arts and crafts, secretarial skills, retail management, accounting, and such, to the bachelor’s or master’s degree program of your choice. Here’s what you will need:

• A sincere desire to improve your circumstances and position yourself closer to your life goals;
• A focused effort to make the process work;
• A computer with internet connection (or convenient access to one);
• A modest space in your home to set up your own little corner of academia;
• A realistic schedule that dovetails with the requirements of your full-time job and your family responsibilities.

How does it work? Something like this:

You will be assigned a personal tutor after you select the course(s) you want to take.

Lectures can be heard through speakers or head phones, or recorded to be reviewed at a later time.

You will arrange to logon to the class site at a time convenient to you, for a specified number of hours per week.

Your instructors can be contacted by email when you have questions.

Assignments - and tests - can be handed in by email, graded by the instructor, and returned to you.

You might be surprised to find a “chat room” where you can speak with your fellow students to discuss the course, and exchange ideas. There might be live audio chat, as well.

Among the advantages of online learning, you might have discovered that

• You are able to fit valuable online learning into a very busy schedule -- with little effort – when your own personal “classroom” is just a few steps away;
• You will have twenty-four hour access to course materials;
• Your schedule will let you work at the time of your choosing and at your own pace;
• You can continue to work a full-time job for as long as you need to.

It will be your responsibility, of course, to develop good work and study habits as well as to keep on top of your assignments, just as you would in any bricks-and-mortar school setting.

Finances need not be a problem. Usually, a financial program can be tailored to your individual needs through grants, loans, or other means.

How much time will all this take – ? Instead of counting the months, maybe even years, ask yourself, “Where will I be this time next year if I ignore the opportunity - ?”

Is it worth it? When you’re holding that piece of paper that says you’ve successfully completed your course – and a great new career is within your reach – you’ll proudly say “YES, it was worth it!”

Ask anyone who’s been through it: Online Learning is a great way to go! Get started NOW.
